The Woman’s Edge is the highlighted portion to a tattoo pattern created by C-Note in the 2000s.

In the 2000s, one of the entrepreneurial creative ways C-Note tried to make money in prison was by creating tattoo patterns, predominantly gang signs for gang members. One such customized request came from a North Carolina Gangster Disciple, who was locked up in California. His customized request was to create a tattoo pattern of a knife stabbing his heart ❤️. But he wanted it to be known that he was being stabbed in the heart by a woman. The following image was C-Note’s concept for the pattern that a prison tattoo artist would use to tattoo on the Gangster Disciple’s chest.

While the piece was created as a symbol of someone’s love lost, the dagger itself, stands as a powerful symbol of female empowerment, its design a testament to resilience, strength, and the indomitable spirit of the Black Shero.

The handle of the dagger is adorned at its pinnacle with a meticulously crafted portrait of a Black American female. Her features are etched with precision, highlighting her proud and determined expression. Her hair is styled in dookie braids, each plaited with care, representing both cultural heritage and individuality. These braids cascade gracefully, merging seamlessly with the handle’s design, suggesting both elegance and readiness. The transition from handle to blade signifies the seamless strength of character, where beauty and resilience intertwine. This dagger is not just a weapon but a symbol of empowerment, embodying the courage and determination of women who stand tall against adversity.
